Limericks about Religion and Theology
Limericks about Metaphysics and Truth
Time is a haunting shadow, moving with us wherever we go. Like an iron leash, it drags us along, powerless to resist or escape.Unlike the other dimensions, we can’t move up and down or back and forth across time. We all march with it in lock step, in a single direction, for an interminable distance at an immeasurable pace.
And yet that longing to defy the ironclad law of time persists. From H.G. Wells to transcendental meditation, we humans are constantly looking for ways to break free from our chronological chains. Whether moving outside of time, or stopping it altogether, the alteration of time hods the secret to eternity, and that’s something that has fascinated our species since the first grain of sand fell through the hourglass.
Be Here Now
The past and the future are one and the same
To think otherwise is a short-sighted game
Outside of uncertainty
Now is eternity
Drawn by a pure and perpetual flame
About Time
The clock waves his fingers with consummate power
Consuming the moments of each passing hour
While licking his chops
The watch never stops
Every second you save he will surely devour
Come and Get It
The future is coming, approaching as planned
Erasing the present like words in the sand
But remember your dreams
Resolve the extremes
And the wisdom of life shall be at your command
Pillars of the Community
The past is a present we try to unpack
Away from the now we meander off track
A pinch of reflection
And vague recollection
Can freeze us like salt as we turn to look back
Pieces of Posterity
Traces of ancients are handed in passing
Across the horizon their search lights are casting
And shadows remain
Where the idols have lain
So which of your fragments will be the long lasting?
Prophecy of the Ephemeral
There are days for good reason and times for insanity
A season for prudence and hours of inanity
But all things are passing
And nothing is lasting
So don’t be misled by what’s verily vanity
Timeless Clarity
Deep in the recess of non-dual thinking
With vision so clear that there’s no need for blinking
The time standing still
Like a rock on a hill
And the present expands while the future is shrinking
Impermanence
The planets keep moving and so do the trees
Like sand in the ocean or dust on the breeze
It’s all rearranging
There’s nothing unchanging
No nothing one touches and nothing one sees
