Mind-Blowing Limericks about Introspection
Metaphysical Poetry: Words, meaning and magic
This set of limericks about soul searching hardly needs an introduction. But I would like to say that soul searching is one of my highest priorities when I set out to write a limerick. What I’d really like to do is write a limerick that can save the planet. In the meantime, let me just try and save my soul.
Intensive Purposes
This world gives me cause to be curious
For the meaning of life is mysterious
That we even exist
Makes it hard to resist
The belief that our purpose is serious
Pilgrim’s Process
Searching for God I took leave like a pilgrim
Asked in the churches and heard that they’d killed Him
Consulted the sages
And wisdom of ages
And finally arrived at the laughter of children
Overstimulation
This presence of abundance of awareness
Is there something for which it prepares us?
When every new system
Brings new forms of wisdom
It shakes us and wakes us and scares us
The Ride of Your Life
You exit this world as you enter: alone
Charging ahead on a path of your own
Single but bound
To the world all around
A party of one on a little blue stone
Elusive Answers
Philosophers wonder and question and chatter
Pursuing the absolute truth of the matter
It’s there, I believe it
You just can’t achieve it
Like reaching the moon with a fourteen foot ladder
Eclectic Reflections
Raising uncertainty—there’s a vocation
The Truth of it All is a full-time fixation
It’s just so much fun when
I’m peeling my onion
But still nowhere near a concise explanation
