Limericks about Norse and Irish Mythology
Quizzical Limericks about Inquiry
We can sit and argue about the purpose of poetry until the sun stops rising. Just as we could ponder the meaning of life until shortly before the end of time. But whether you take the long view or the short view, you can’t deny the importance of making use of the here and now.
With just one life to live—at least until further notice—we need to make the most of what we have. Instead of dwelling on what we don’t have, or lamenting the shortcomings of others, we need to start with ourselves.
So go ahead, ignore the big picture for a just a moment, and go out and improve yourself like nobody’s watching. Hopefully the following collection of limericks will help get you pointed in the right direction.
Composure
An unkindness of ravens may pester your soul
And challenge your heart till your patience is full
Embrace them with grace
Put yourself in their place
Not until then will your spirit be whole
Self Actualization
I once met a man who was less than a man
So rattled by fear that he never began
In need of approval
And ego removal
Let’s aim to do more with our selves if we can
Habitual Growth
As a flower that grows toward the light
A person is drawn to what’s right
Stretching with hope
Like a heliotrope
Though the source can be seen without sight
Creative Salvation
The imaginative spirit is never at peace
Creation conducts the most perfect release
The name of the game
Is to kindle your flame
The best proven way to make listlessness cease
One Great Leap of Faith
Surrender your self and submit to the song
Make way for the mentor to lead you along
Give in to the guide
Obey and abide
Acquiescence, I reckon, shall favor the strong
Come and get it
The future is coming, approaching as planned
Erasing the present like words in the sand
But remember your dreams
And resolve the extremes
And the wisdom of life shall be at your command
Revival
From dreary dim shadows where secrets are spoken
Go pick up the pieces, what’s tattered and broken
The cure for your trouble
Beneath all that rubble
And only from darkness can daylight be woken
Act Now
Use your time wisely for deeds of distinction
Attend to your calling and trust your instinction
And do what you can
With your limited span
The essence of life bears the seeds of extinction
The Poison and the Cure
Discover the medicine, maybe abuse it
The day could arrive when you choose to refuse it
Live it and breathe it
Or take it or leave it
With patience and time you can learn how to use it
Achievement
On the road to success you don’t have to go far
No need to ascend to the outermost star
But the prize you can win
Will arrive deep within
When you learn to accept people just as they are
Shapes of Things (Gestalt Therapy)
Are you ready or not to bear witness?
If not I might question your fitness
There’s no sense concealing
The genuine feelings
So conquer the impasse of unfinished business
Standing Firm
The dark side is strong but its spirit is haunted
Tempting your senses with more than you wanted
On strength from within
You must never give in
As the soldier of truth presses onward undaunted
