Phenomenal Limericks about Time and Impermanence
Limericks about Seasons, Stars and Planets
With thousands of churches and political organization operating around the world and issuing their own particular versions of the truth, I can’t help but return to Socratic method. Metaphysical truth is not a matter of absolute certainty, but a process of endless questioning and wondering.
And while the current trend keeps moving towards the scientifically verifiable, I can’t stop drifting into the poetically ambiguous. But rather than try and explain my untethered position, let’s just let the limericks do the talking.
Distant Promise
The uppermost matters defy all description
Instead we pursue an elaborate fiction
Expecting a prize
When each of us dies
So many maintain this unbending conviction
Unknowable Causation
Less than concrete but it’s more than a notion
The very strong sense of perpetual motion
And nobody knows
Where the energy goes
But the force that propels it has earned my devotion
Metaphysical Quandary
To believe in or not? It’s what many still ask
Yet those opposite monsters both wear the same mask
Like heads versus tails
The reasoning fails
Calling coins from the void is a far deeper task
Ineffable Truths
The principal essence escapes our attention
The ultimate truth lies beyond comprehension
We pursue the illusion
And dwell in confusion
While meaningless moo-joo is all that we mention
The Force in Balance
The cosmos consists of a delicate force
Through which every action will run its due course
When goodness prevails
It can alter the scales
For all that we do makes it better or worse
Polyvalence
I met a physician without a perspective
His polychrome vision contained a collective
He saw with facility
All possibility
Prism-like luminous rich and reflective
A Pensive Pilgrimage
From chaos to calm there’s a nebulous border
Defined by some vague and invisible order
But trying to unravel
This road that I travel
The journey remaining just never grows shorter
